10 Ways to Find Alpha and Beta Games to Test
|There are many ways to find alpha, beta, or early access games. Here are the methods that I have found to work for me.
1) Social media – You can search for games on Twitter, Facebook and Tumbler. Search by entering alpha, beta or new games. These platforms may have your friends talking about the game. Check out their conversations and take screenshots of the video or game.
2) Steam is a gaming platform that allows you to buy and sell games, as well as connect with other gamers. Steam allows you to search for early access and go to the store. Steam Greenlight is where you can find beta and alpha games. They are there to pitch the idea. You might be able to try demos.
You can also search Steam for games if you’re a member of a group or if a friend is a friend. You can also ask them what they have.
4) The same process as in number 3 applies for the chatting platforms Slack or Discord. Discord is relatively new. Slack is semi-new, in case you haven’t heard.
5) Make sure to check out Crowdfunding sites like Indiegogo or Kickstarter. These sites allow you to search for games. You would select Explore if you went to Kickstarter.com. Next, go to Categories. There are many types of games once you have selected Games. It is important to go through all the games to see if there are demos. The beta or alpha game may offer you the chance to sign up.
IndieDB is another site that does not offer crowdfunding, but it allows you to search for games in alpha, beta and early access stages. Here you can’t buy anything. (Similar to steam, but no buying).
YouTube – Search! Your favorite YouTuber may have the ability to help you find games. You should also consider other video platforms.
7) Blogs are a great resource for readers. Check gaming bloggers or even game news sites. You can find a lot of information on these sites, and they often share links.
8) You can perform a Google search in a simple way you might not have considered. There are still many people who use search engines.
Reddit is the last option. Check to see if there are any art or game forums. Do a search if there isn’t one.
10) Don’t miss the gaming events. There is no better way to learn about the latest games.
It is easy to find early access, beta, and alpha games almost anywhere. You don’t have to worry about finding every one. Always, beta and alpha games will be released. Before a game is released, it must be tested. There will always be beta and alpha games until the end of time. Get outside to get some Vitamin D.
